A Safe Environment

Your child’s safety is the most important.  I am certified in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.  Every household member has passed a criminal background check with a ‘Vulnerable Sector Search’.

 

A Loving Environment

I encourage a loving and nurturing environment in which every child feels accepted and loved.  I encourage the children to have a duty to be a friend, accept, include and support each other. 

 

A Learning Environment

We learn new skills, facts about the world, letters and numbers, and discuss all aspects of our daily life, including the foods we eat, things we see, and toileting skills.  Anything the children want to learn about I try to satisfy their curiosity whether it be through a book, a walk, a song, a hands on activity, or even googling more pictures to explain better.  If they want to know more, we will learn it! We learn the importance of honesty, self-respect, self-reliance, personal potential, self-discipline, and moderation.  We learn the value in showing love, sensitivity, kindness, friendliness and fairness towards others. 

 

A Disciplined Environment

It is important that the parents and I share a similar philosophy so that your child is not confused as to where the boundaries are and what is expected of him/her. Children are taught which behaviors are inappropriate, and why, and offered alternatives that are acceptable. In this way, the behavior is being changed, without making the child feel “bad” or unloved. This helps develop their self-esteem, and teaches them how to handle difficult situations themselves in the future.
